Assassin's Creed Reveals Surprising AoT Event for Holiday Season
In a unexpected crossover event that challenges usual expectations, Ubisoft has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Disclosed
According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious meeting draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of forbidden rituals and fearsome transformations reverberate through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a secret cult.
The adventure centers on "peculiar trials and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Changes
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the captive, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Additional Content
Players who finish the quest will obtain an exclusive katana together with numerous objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Content
This patch also introduces the game's newest free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This signifies hardly the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with well-known anime franchises. The series earlier featured a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
